MWM Production Planning is a user friendly and very accessible production system that clearly shows equipment utilisation in prepress, press and postpress. The module manages the entire workflow from a sales rep booking an order to job bookings in prepress, press hall, mailroom and dispatch.
Professional production planning
An order describes the product, e g customer, product name, editions, paginations, substrate, print runs, etc. The booking is sent to a production planner responsible for allocating resources in the press hall and mailroom (and prepress if relevant). Based on the product description and the chosen equipment, the system calculates production times in the various departments as well as labour requirements. Naturally, the planner can change the times suggested by the system.
Set the level of detail for planning
The production planner sets how detailed the planning should be, whether down to the level of folder or printing unit and whether mailroom and prepress should be planned by line or by machine. One advantage of detailed planning is that maintenance can be planned for un-booked machines in the press hall and mailroom.
With a common and comprehensive production plan, it is easy to calculate production times for each printed product. The module includes a popular function for searching for the first available time to print a specific job.
Reduced manual labour
MWM Production Planning can receive bookings from a maintenance system. The purpose of this is to minimize the manual labour involved in entering bookings.
