Providing overview and control for print production

MWM CopyTrack (Denex) is a real time tracking system based on Microsoft Dynamics AX for the entire print production in the media, magazine and newspaper industry.

The system registers all waste types in the press and mailroom and reduces the number of over produced copies as well as the number of extra prints, by automatically shutting down the press when the correct print run has been produced.

Overview and control

The module provides overview and control over all current jobs, which significantly improves the efficiency in printing, inserting, stacking and distribution processes. During production MWM CopyTrack displays number information such as number of approved copies, gross copies in the mailroom, net copies in the mailroom, waste in various production processes, total waste, etc. Production milestones are also registered, including start time, make-ready, print start, first approved copy, production end, stoppage times, etc.

Interface detail level depending on user

Production information is shown in the user interfaces, which are designed for the needs of the different users, enabling overview as well as detailed views. In order to minimize over-production, a function exists to shut the press off, manually or automatically, at exactly the right time.

All production data is stored in a database. The information can be used for reporting and analysis, and as input for management and business systems.

New features in CopyTrack 5

Label Printer is a tool for printing companies to manage all check copies that needs to be provided to their customers.  The MWM CopyTrack Label Printer feature will remind the press operators to get a check copy that the customers ask for, which can be a check copy for every 5000 copies. The press operators will be reminded and when comfirming the system will automatically print a label with all information needed about that specific check copy.

Auto Shutdown is used to shut down the press automatically with minimal over production. No matter which product or press team, the over production will be minimal.

PreSchedule is a planning tool that makes it easy to plan daily, weekly or monthly production for a whole year. With just a few clicks you will be able to schedule a daily production for the whole year with exceptions of holidays.
